Under-Bench Storage

Under-Bench Cupboard Drawers

Under-bench cupboards are often big enough to store plenty of items, but awkward enough that the back half of the cupboard barely gets used.

Pots, pans, containers, lids, appliances, cleaning products, and pantry overflow can all end up hidden behind whatever was put in first.

Retrofitted drawer banks can make those cupboards easier to use by letting the contents slide out toward you.

When under-bench drawers make sense

Under-bench drawer retrofits are worth exploring when:

  • you have to kneel or bend to reach items
  • you unpack the front of the cupboard to reach the back
  • lids, containers, or appliances are hard to keep organised
  • the cupboard is deep but not easy to access
  • the cabinetry is still usable but the internal layout is frustrating

Single-door and double-door cupboards

The imported pricing page lists starting prices for both single-door and double-door under-bench drawer banks.

Single-door under-bench drawer bank up to 600mm: $440 starting price.

Double-door under-bench drawer bank up to 900mm: $490 starting price.

Drawer size, drawer type, runner capacity, and extras are added to that base. See pricing options for the full pricing guide.

What can affect the design

Under-bench cupboards may need to account for:

  • internal width and depth
  • hinge position
  • existing shelf placement
  • plumbing
  • sink cutouts
  • heavy storage needs
  • whether standard, deluxe, or premium drawers are best

If the cupboard is under a sink, a sink cutout may be required. The pricing page lists sink cutouts as an extra.

What to store in under-bench drawers

Depending on the cupboard and runner capacity, under-bench drawers may help with:

  • pots and pans
  • food containers
  • lids
  • baking supplies
  • appliances
  • cleaning supplies
  • laundry products
  • bathroom supplies

Heavy items may need stronger runners. Ask about the right hardware during the check measure.

Next step

If the under-bench cupboard is the main problem, use pricing options for an estimate, then request a check measure to confirm what will fit.
